It got better

I was just flipping through the first pages of my journal, which I started about 4 years ago after divorce https://onlinedivorcer.com/county-specific-resources/georgia/divorce-in-chatham-county.

My first entry was a howl of pain about my young adult college student kids staying at my ex's house a couple of days before Christmas while I was home alone pretty much in despair.

Fast forward 4 years. Kids are grown and launched into adulthood and I have a good relationship with both of them.
I have a sweet boyfriend who I love and who loves me.
I have a better network of friends than I did then.

I look back and think "damn, things are waaay better than they were after my divorce".

It takes time, but things get better.
